The shiraz and cabernet sauvignon varieties hail from France while graciano originates in Spain. If you put them together, you make an exceptional dry red table wine. The fruit for our 2022 SCG was from our own vines planted from 2001 onwards with just 32 dozen made.
Fruit was harvested mid-April and gently crushed into an open fermenter. No additions were made to the wine and fermentation was conducted by wild yeast. Throughout the ferment the must was hand plunged prior to basket pressing after 6 days. The resulting wine has lovely aromatic spice, medium bodied with long and youthful tannins.
