DogRock is thrilled to be recognised for its enviro work through our local business awards and given the "Environmental Responsability Award" for the third time in a row on Oct 7th (see below). To top off an exciting month DogRock also collected the Trophy for Best Varietal Blended or Table Wine - Red at the Victorian Wine Show on October 21with our 2010 Degraves Road. This wine also won a Gold at the 2011 WineWise Small Vignerons Awards and completes a trifecta for Degraves with our 2008, 2009 and now 2010 Degraves Road all Trophy winners. This comes on top of being classified as a 5 star winery in the 2012 James Halliday Wine Companion after only 6 years since our first vintage.

Our new release wine dinner at the Vines Cafe in Ararat on September 17th went very well with the release of our 2009 Degraves Road Icon Red (94/100, 1Trophy, 2 gold & 1 silver) as well as our first ever release of the new 2010 Reserve Riesling (91/100), the 2011 Riesling and 2009 Shiraz. Dedicated guests travelled from as far as Hay, Adelaide and Mornington Peninsula to enjoy some of the best cuisine around matched perfectly to our new release wines. We also threw in a quiz to keep guests entertained and the long trip from Hay went rewarded with Colin and friends each taking home a bottle of 2007 Degraves Road for their expert knowledge.

DogRock is pleased to announce that a new wine distributor has been appointed in Melbourne in Vino Bambino. Mark and Michelle Singarella are two young people who have decided to start their own business. More information can be seen on the distribution page.

DogRock Winery cellar door is currently open by appointment only until September so best tp phone ahead if you wish to visit.

You may have noticed that DogRock has changed its labels from a white background to a cream one with a slightly altered logo. Our Degraves Road has gone to a black background with red rock and it looks pretty amazing. The Reserve Riesling will also have the black label so watch out for them in the near future.

Our new solar powered irrigation system is in place and now just needs some sun to work. We believe we are the first winery in Australia that we know of to have a 100% solar powered irrigation system coupled with gravity fed water from a turkey nest dam on the hill.

Dont forget to watch out for DogRock at the Pyrenees Escapade on Oct 30th at the Avoca Racecourse. Its a lot of fun and for more information check out the Pyrenees Winemakers website for bookings or general information.
